• Mars as yogakaraka for Cancer and Leo Lagna.
• Mars as Lagna lord for Aries and Scorpio, or as the 9th lord for Pisces.
• Mars strong by sign: exalted in Capricorn, in its own signs Aries and Scorpio, or in the signs of its friends the Sun, Moon and Jupiter.

• Mars in the 8th or 12th house and weak.
• Mars ruling the 6th, 8th or 12th for the Lagna and poorly placed.
