BNN Chart Reading: Step by Step with Examples
This post consolidates everything learned in the series into a practical, step by step method for reading any birth chart using BNN principles.
Follow these steps in order. With practice, the process becomes intuitive and rapid.
Step One: Identify Jupiter's Position
Locate Jupiter in the chart. Note which rashi it occupies and the rashi number.
Example: Jupiter in Libra. Rashi number 7.
This rashi becomes the first house for all BNN analysis.
Step Two: Count Houses from Jupiter
Moving counterclockwise, assign house numbers to all twelve rashis.
Example with Jupiter in Libra (7):
- Libra (7) = 1st house
- Scorpio (8) = 2nd house
- Sagittarius (9) = 3rd house
- Capricorn (10) = 4th house
- Aquarius (11) = 5th house
- Pisces (12) = 6th house
- Aries (1) = 7th house
- Taurus (2) = 8th house
- Gemini (3) = 9th house
- Cancer (4) = 10th house
- Leo (5) = 11th house
- Virgo (6) = 12th house
Step Three: Note Jupiter's Rashi Characteristics
Since Jupiter is Jeevakaraka, its rashi colors the native's core personality. Refer to Jupiter in all twelve rashis (Post 7) for detailed characteristics.
Example: Jupiter in Libra. The native has money minded disposition, mediation skills, attraction to fine arts, soft speech, and in male charts tendency toward womanizing or many female friends.
Step Four: Identify All Planetary Combinations
Apply Rule Two. Check each trinal triangle (1-5-9, 2-6-10, 3-7-11, 4-8-12). Note which planets occupy rashis within each triangle. Those planets combine.
Also check next house combinations and seventh house combinations (except for Rahu and Ketu).
List all combinations found.
Step Five: Interpret Each Combination
For each identified combination, join the significations of the planets involved. Refer to the detailed combination posts (Posts 9-19, 25-27) for specific meanings.
Note the houses (counted from Jupiter) where the planets sit. This adds context about where in life the combination manifests.
Step Six: Prioritize Combinations
Not all combinations carry equal weight. Prioritize by:
- Strength of connection (same rashi strongest, then trinal, then next house, then seventh house)
- Number of planets involved (three planets stronger than two)
- Involvement of Jupiter, Saturn, or Sun (these planets dominate the narrative)
- Repetition of themes across multiple combinations
Step Seven: Synthesize into a Coherent Reading
Combine all information into a unified narrative. The reading should address:
- Core personality (from Jupiter's rashi)
- Career patterns (combinations involving Saturn)
- Relationship patterns (combinations involving Venus or Mars)
- Spiritual inclinations (combinations involving Jupiter or Ketu)
- Wealth patterns (combinations involving Venus or Rahu)
- Health considerations (combinations involving Moon, Mars, or Rahu)
Step Eight: Suggest Appropriate Remedies
For each significant combination, offer the corresponding BNN remedy. Refer to the complete remedies guide (Post 20).
