BNN Rule Two: Planets in Trinal Rashis Are Always in Combination

BNN Rule Two: Planets in Trinal Rashis Are Always in Combination

Rule One established Jupiter as the first house. That framework allows the chart to be read without dependence on birth time.

Rule Two introduces the predictive engine of BNN. Planetary combinations.

This post explains what trinal rashis are. How planets form combinations through them. And why this rule matters for accurate prediction.

The Logic of Rule Two

Rule Two states simply. Planets placed in trinal rashis are considered to be in combination with each other.

The word "trinal" refers to triangles. In the zodiac, certain rashis form natural triangles with each other. Planets occupying any rashi within the same triangle are treated as if they are in conjunction.

Their significations merge. Their energies combine. Predictions emerge from joining what each planet represents.

This is the core predictive method of BNN. Understanding it opens the entire system.

What Are Trinal Rashis

The twelve rashis divide into four groups. Each group contains three rashis that form a triangle in the zodiac.

The First Triangle. 1, 5, 9.

Aries (1), Leo (5), Sagittarius (9).

These are the fire signs. They share qualities of action, inspiration, and forward movement.

The Second Triangle. 2, 6, 10.

Taurus (2), Virgo (6), Capricorn (10).

These are the earth signs. They share qualities of stability, practicality, and material manifestation.

The Third Triangle. 3, 7, 11.

Gemini (3), Libra (7), Aquarius (11).

These are the air signs. They share qualities of communication, relationship, and intellectual exchange.

The Fourth Triangle. 4, 8, 12.

Cancer (4), Scorpio (8), Pisces (12).

These are the water signs. They share qualities of emotion, intuition, and inner depth.

Each triangle connects rashis that are four steps apart in the zodiac. From 1 to 5 is four steps. From 5 to 9 is four steps. From 9 back to 1 is four steps.

This geometric relationship creates resonance. Planets in these positions "see" each other. Their energies flow together.

How Trinal Combinations Work

The method is simple. Identify all planets in the chart. Note which rashis they occupy. Group planets that sit within the same triangle.

Those planets are in combination.

A single chart may contain multiple combinations across different triangles. Each combination tells a distinct part of the person's story.

Example One. The 1-5-9 Triangle.

A chart shows Jupiter in Aries (1). Saturn in Leo (5). Rahu in Sagittarius (9).

All three planets occupy rashis within the first triangle. They are in combination.

The merged significations create a three planet combination. Jupiter (self, wisdom) plus Saturn (career, karma) plus Rahu (foreign lands, desire).

Predictions would include career in foreign lands. Wisdom applied to unconventional fields. A life path shaped by desire for expansion beyond birthplace.

Example Two. The 2-6-10 Triangle.

A chart shows Venus in Taurus (2). No planets in Virgo (6). Moon in Capricorn (10).

Venus and Moon occupy rashis within the second triangle. They are in combination.

The merged significations create a two planet combination. Venus (money, beauty, relationships) plus Moon (mind, change, mother).

Predictions would include financial fluctuation. Emotional relationship with money. Mother's influence on financial attitudes.

Empty rashis within the triangle do not break the combination. Two planets are sufficient. Three planets create a stronger combination.

Example Three. The 3-7-11 Triangle.

A chart shows Mercury in Gemini (3). No planets in Libra (7). Saturn in Aquarius (11).

Mercury and Saturn occupy rashis within the third triangle. They are in combination.

The merged significations create the Mercury Saturn combination. Intelligence meets delay. Kumbhkaran Yoga. Procrastination with eventual success under pressure.

Example Four. The 4-8-12 Triangle.

A chart shows Mars in Cancer (4). Ketu in Scorpio (8). Jupiter in Pisces (12).

All three planets occupy rashis within the fourth triangle. They are in combination.

This creates multiple overlapping combinations. Mars plus Ketu. Jupiter plus Mars. Jupiter plus Ketu.

Each pair tells a different story. Mars Ketu shows marital challenge or Hanuman Yoga. Jupiter Mars shows energetic wisdom. Jupiter Ketu shows spiritual seeking.

The three together form a complex narrative about the person's inner and outer life.

Additional Ways Planets Combine

Trinal rashis are the primary method for identifying combinations in BNN. Two additional rules exist.

Next House Combination

If one planet occupies the rashi immediately following another planet's rashi, they are in combination.

For example, Jupiter in Aries (1) and Saturn in Taurus (2). Saturn sits in the very next rashi. They combine.

This rule applies regardless of which house the rashis occupy in the BNN framework. The relationship is between the rashis themselves.

Seventh House Combination

If one planet occupies the rashi that is seven positions away from another planet's rashi, they are in combination.

For example, Jupiter in Aries (1) and Venus in Libra (7). Libra is seven rashis from Aries. They combine.

This rule has one critical exception. Rahu and Ketu do not form seventh house combinations. If Rahu sits in Aries and a planet sits in Libra, that connection is not treated as a combination. This exception applies only to the shadow planets.

Why This Expanded Definition Matters

In traditional Parashari astrology, planets are generally considered combined only when they occupy the same house or aspect each other directly.

BNN's expanded definition creates many more combinations. A chart that appears scattered under traditional rules may reveal strong connections under BNN rules.

This is why BNN practitioners often see things other astrologers miss. The system is designed to detect relationships that are present but not obvious.

The expanded definition also aligns with the core BNN philosophy. Birth time may be unknown. Lagna may be uncertain. But planetary positions by rashi can be known with confidence. Building predictions on those stable positions creates reliability.

How to Apply Rule Two in Practice

Follow these steps when analyzing any chart.

Step One. List all nine planets and the rashi each occupies. Use rashi numbers for clarity.

Step Two. Check the 1-5-9 triangle. Which planets occupy Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius. Those planets combine.

Step Three. Check the 2-6-10 triangle. Which planets occupy Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn. Those planets combine.

Step Four. Check the 3-7-11 triangle. Which planets occupy Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius. Those planets combine.

Step Five. Check the 4-8-12 triangle. Which planets occupy Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces. Those planets combine.

Step Six. Check for next house combinations. For each planet, note if any other planet occupies the immediately following rashi.

Step Seven. Check for seventh house combinations. For each planet except Rahu and Ketu, note if any other planet occupies the rashi seven positions away.

Step Eight. For each identified combination, join the significations of the planets involved. The merged meaning yields predictions.

Example Chart Analysis

A complete example solidifies understanding.

Planet Positions

Sun in Leo (5). Moon in Sagittarius (9). Mars in Capricorn (10). Mercury in Cancer (4). Jupiter in Aries (1). Venus in Virgo (6). Saturn in Aquarius (11). Rahu in Scorpio (8). Ketu in Taurus (2).

Step Two. 1-5-9 Triangle.

Aries (1) holds Jupiter. Leo (5) holds Sun. Sagittarius (9) holds Moon. Jupiter, Sun, and Moon combine.

Step Three. 2-6-10 Triangle.

Taurus (2) holds Ketu. Virgo (6) holds Venus. Capricorn (10) holds Mars. Ketu, Venus, and Mars combine.

Step Four. 3-7-11 Triangle.

Gemini (3) is empty. Libra (7) is empty. Aquarius (11) holds Saturn. Only Saturn occupies this triangle. No combination forms.

Step Five. 4-8-12 Triangle.

Cancer (4) holds Mercury. Scorpio (8) holds Rahu. Pisces (12) is empty. Mercury and Rahu combine.

Step Six. Next House.

Check each planet's next rashi. Jupiter in 1. Next is 2 (Ketu). Jupiter and Ketu combine. Sun in 5. Next is 6 (Venus). Sun and Venus combine. Continue for all planets.

Step Seven. Seventh House.

Check seven positions from each planet. Jupiter in 1. Seven away is 7 (empty). No combination. Sun in 5. Seven away is 11 (Saturn). Sun and Saturn combine. Continue for all except Rahu and Ketu.

Resulting Combinations.

Jupiter, Sun, Moon (1-5-9 triangle). Ketu, Venus, Mars (2-6-10 triangle). Mercury, Rahu (4-8-12 triangle). Plus next house pairs. Plus seventh house pairs.

This chart contains multiple overlapping combinations. A rich predictive landscape emerges.

Important Clarification

Not every combination carries equal weight.

Planets physically together in the same rashi create the strongest combination. Trinal placement creates strong combination. Next house creates moderate combination. Seventh house creates mild combination.

Multiple planets in the same triangle amplify each other. Three planets create a more powerful effect than two.

The astrologer learns through practice which combinations dominate the chart's narrative.
