Mudakku is a Siddhar-tradition astrological technique that identifies a specific karmic obstruction point in a horoscope, derived from the Sun's position relative to the Moola nakshatra and Sagittarius. It is used to explain recurring, unexplained delays or failures in a native's life despite an otherwise strong chart. Mudakku analysis works from the Sun (functioning as Atmakaraka in this context) and its relationship to the Moola nakshatra and Sagittarius. From this, three values are derived:

 

These values point to a specific house in the chart that is considered "crippled" or blocked - indicating the life area (career, finance, relationships, etc.) most likely to show repeated, hard-to-explain difficulty.

 

Mainstream Vedic astrology software - Jagannatha Hora, Parashara's Light, Shri Jyoti Star - is built around widely standardized calculations: Ashtakavarga, Shadbala, Dashas, and common Doshas (Mangal Dosha, Kaal Sarp Dosha, etc.).
