Choosing a life partner is one of the most important decisions a family makes, and a simple star-match score doesn't tell the whole story. That's why Sithars Astrology now includes a detailed 6-page Marriage Match Report. It compares the bride's and groom's horoscopes from every traditional angle and lays everything out clearly on landscape A4 pages, ready to print or save as PDF.

Many of you know this report format from our Excel edition. It's now built right into the software, with better calculations and a cleaner layout.

What's inside the report

Page 1 - Both horoscopes side by side

Birth details, full planetary positions (degree, star, pada, star lord and sub lord), and the Rasi and Amsam charts for both the bride and the groom. The charts mark retrograde and combust planets, and Pushkaramsa and Apathu positions. Each chart also shows the dasa balance at birth and the current dasa, bhukti and antaram.

• Page 1, charts: every planet sits in the right sign in both Rasi charts. For example, the groom's Lagna and Mercury are in Kanni, and the Sun and Rahu in Thulam. The bride's retro and combust markers (புத®•, குரு•, சனி•) are correct: the Sun is at 185°55′, Mercury 9½° away, Jupiter 7°, Saturn 14½°, all inside their combustion limits. The Amsam signs I checked are right too.
• Page 1, dasa: the balances are right: Ayilyam 3 gives Mercury 6வ 2மா 29நா, and Magam 4 gives Ketu 1வ 1மா 17நா. Today's periods are also right: the groom is in Mars-Jupiter-Saturn and the bride in Rahu-Rahu-Saturn. For the bride, the Jupiter sub-period ended around 18-09-2026, so Saturn is correct.

Page 2 - Strength of Lagna, Rasi and the 7th house

Shows how strong each person's Lagna, Rasi, 7th house and their lords are, both in their own chart and in their partner's chart, and gives a clear verdict for each. This page also has detailed Chevvai (Mars), Rahu and Sukra dosha tables, with an explanation of how Chevvai dosham should really be read.

• Page 2, Lagna/Rasi/7th table: the groom's Kanni lagna falls in the bride's 12th house, together with her Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn. Her Mercury is shown as "இரண்டும்" (retro and combust). All six rows come out "இல்லை", which is consistent, because the groom's items fall in weak houses in the bride's chart.
• Page 2, dosha tables: the groom's Rahu dosham is "உண்டு" because Rahu is in his 2nd house together with his 12th lord, the Sun. The bride's Sukra dosham is "உண்டு" because her 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 7th and 12th lords all stand with malefics. Neither has Chevvai dosham, since Mars is in the 10th and 11th.

Page 3 - House lords compared

Shows how the lords of the key houses (health, family, children, marriage, career, gains and more) are placed in both charts, with a clear good / average / not favourable result for each.

• Page 3: I checked a sample of rows. For example, the groom's 1st lord Mercury is in his 1st house in own sign with dig bala, so உத்தமம். In the bride's chart the same Mercury is in the 12th, retro and combust, so இல்லை. The totals match the ticks.

Page 4 - Planet-to-planet compatibility

A full relationship grid between the groom's and the bride's planets, followed by a planet-wise compatibility table covering Sun, Moon, Venus, Jupiter and the rest.

• Page 4: the relations I spot-checked are right. For example, both Suns are in Thulam, which gives 1-1. The totals match the ticks.

Page 5 - Papa Samyam and Lagna exchange

Papa Samyam scores for both, from Lagna, Rasi and Venus, checked against the traditional balance rule. The page also shows each person's chart with the partner's Lagna, to see how life may unfold after marriage.

• Page 5, Papa Samyam: the groom's lagna row is Sun neecham in the 2nd house = 7.50, plus Rahu natpu = 2.25, total 9.75. The bride's is also 9.75. The totals are 21.88 against 18.75, and the girl's figure is at most the boy's and the boy's at most twice hers, so it's "உண்டு".

Page 6 - 10 Porutham and 15 Porutham

Both the classic 10-porutham check and the extended 15-porutham check, including Rajju, Vedhai, Nadi, Dasa Sandhi and Pancha Bhootham. Each item is clearly marked as Uththamam, Maththimam or not matching.

• Page 6: Ayilyam counted from Magam is the 27th star. Dinam is "இல்லை" because both star lords are Mercury/Ketu. Yoni is "இல்லை" (rat and cat are enemies), Rajju is "மத்திமம்" (same body part, opposite direction), and Rasi is "உத்தமம்" (the 12th rasi). Vriddhi shows 0 and 6, Ayul 162 against 13, and the Dasa Sandhi dates are right. The totals are 5/2/3 and 6/1/8.
